There are plenty of counterexamples. For instance on 09/10/2001 the Dow was at 9,605. On 09/21/2001 the Dow was at 8,235. Yet over the following twelve months, the Dow peaked at 10,632.

Obama is following the same strategy W did for eight long years as part of his "new tone in Washington." He let Congress write a piece of crap spending bill, and promised to sign whatever 1000+ page testament of corruption hit his desk. Obama is no better or worse than W on the economy. If anything it is W's third term.
