It's not like they haven't been doing this for decades. I think there is a little too much tin foil around here.
Back in 1979, we had an "invasion" of Special Forces, parachuting in at night and staging a "hostage rescue" in Leadville, CO. I only found out about it when several hapless paratroopers ended up in my ER with wrenched knees and backs and cactus encounters.
I guess that is what jumping into rough mountain terrain at night will do to you!
