Emplaced at the midpoint of Stettinius Parade, this recasting of Edmond de Laheudrie’s (1861-1946) Le Monument aux Morts retains the battle scars the original sculpture acquired during the liberation of Trévières. Its siting on a direct axis with the Overlord Arch invites comparison with the familiar images of the 28th Infantry Division parading through Arc de Triomphe during the liberation of Paris.
