"I can see him loosing many seats to conservatives in the 2010 elections and beyond."

Osama is, as we speak, recruiting/buying/empowering hordes of new, intimidating activists.

He is not to be underestimated. He did a pretty good job in 2008.

I certainly don't have a crystal ball--but I do know he is angering a lot of his base, and as the situation gets worse (and it will--and it will be pretty fast), he will lose a lot more.

I prefer to see the glass half full. That way, I can get up every morning at least---LOL!

“Yeah, but the Scandanavians had the sort of people who could make socialism sort-of work. The USA lacks that - we have lots more wannbe freeloaders.”

Socialism encourages and creates freeloaders, irrespective of “the sort of people.”

Take Germany. West and East ethnically identical.

After 1989 and unification, a huge problem existed, because those in/from the East were so indoctrinated with expectation that government provided a living, regardless of their own productivity.

Westerners resented their lazy Eastern cousins.

Easterners were saddened to start having to work.

Today, most Swedes seem very aware that Sweden is extremely vulnerable because it is so dependent on exports.

Fortunately, the U.S. doesn't have this problem, since America's economy is based, not on exports, but on hot air and promises.

-—marched into the Iraqi capital in the first Gulf war in the 1990’s-—

Western Culture, none of the Coalition forces went into Baghdad.

++++Forces from the United States, the United Kingdom, and France continued to pursue retreating Iraqi forces over the border and back into Iraq, moving to within 150 miles (240 km) of Baghdad before withdrawing.++++

Socialism definitely is un-American, I guess most Americans would agree.

Apparently not anymore.

“Western Culture, none of the Coalition forces went into Baghdad.”

- I stand corrected.
