Philadelphia Newspapers' Owner Files for Bankruptcy

Philadelphia Newspapers L.L.C., which owns The Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com, filed for bankruptcy protection today in a bid to restructure its $390 million in debt load.
The company, bought by a group of Philadelphia-area investors for $562 million in 2006, said the voluntary Chapter 11 filing would not interrupt its daily operations.

This is a good trend that I hope to see more of. Our Depression is not completely without some positive aspects and it would be a shame to have to endure one without a few of these rays of progress to brighten up the otherwise bleak outlook.

Lemmie guess - their union contracts are killing them and that will be the first thing they will want to change in bankruptcy court.
But they want to force insane unions on the rest of American businesses...
