Racism, Eric Holder, my Son and Me
The American Thinker ^ | February 23, 2009 | Larrey Anderson

Posted on 02/23/2009 3:02:50 AM PST by Scanian

Enough is enough. I have had thirty plus years of enough. I have had enough of being called a "racist." I will not sit here and be called a racist and a coward by a self-serving, race-baiting politician like Eric Holder.

You wanna talk racism, Mr. Holder? Okay. It's time we talked. In fact, we should have had this talk thirty years ago. It's time someone like me talked to someone like you about race.

Why am I qualified to talk about racism? Simple: I am a middle-aged white American male -- this fact alone qualifies me as a racist in this Wonderland of political correctness that is the United States.

But my "racism" goes much deeper than particulars of gender and skin color. In fact, as a working writer and a retired politician, I have a lifelong pattern of "racism." I was called a "racist" twenty-five years ago when I voted against "hate crimes" legislation in the Idaho State Senate. I had this insane notion that all violent crimes were hate crimes -- clearly a racist thought (no doubt instilled by the white culture of hate that surrounded me).

Thanks. When conservatives stop worrying about the “racism” tag, they will succeed in getting so much more accomplished. Liberals and the MSM are always going to detest us, so I say screw ‘em!

Some months ago before the election I took an equally hard-line in this reply which rejects the cynicism of the race baiting indulged in by the left for years. I do not base my case on having paid penance, on having adopted a son, on having marched in Selma, but simply on my rights as an American:

There are two facts about Barak Obama which stand out above all others: first, he is so inexperienced that he is unqualified to be the president of the United States of American. Second, he is regarded to be African-American.

The truth, which no one seems to be willing to tell, is that such an inexperienced individual would never be the nominee of America's largest political party if it were not for the fact that he is accepted to be black. He would not be nominated if he were not African-American.

One of the ways he got nominated, apart from the mainstream media like Chris Matthews anointing him to assuage their white guilt, was because he polled better than 90% of African-Americans in the primaries. Another truth that is rarely mentioned is that, quite simply, African-Americans voted their race. They voted for Obama because he is black. That is the essence of racism.

The problem with this development for white voters is that people like Chris Matthews ask us to unilaterally disarm in the face of this racism. We are told at every turn that criticism of Obama's inexperience is thinly disguised racism. The mainstream media who tell us that, as well as black voters who are motivated by racism, are not just playing some game, they are trying to attain political power over all voters including white voters.

That is, after all, what politics is all about: who gets to enforce the decisions at the point of a gun about who gets what and who pays for it. In extreme instances, the chief executive commits our sons, and now daughters, to die on some battlefield. The stakes are almost infinite. They involve our blood and treasure.

If the game of politics is to be rigged by racism it is folly for white people to play a different game. If blacks can vote for Obama because he is black, whites can vote against him because he is black. If blacks can vote their race, whites can vote their race too, and do so free of taint of racism.

The mainstream media, and Chris Matthews is the prominent example, perhaps unconsciously, have been struggling to divert white voters' attention away from these realities and away from voting their own self-interest, or even the interests of the nation as a whole.

The best that can be said of Obama is that he is inexperienced and unqualified for office. The worst that can be said of this campaign is that it is racist at its core.

I invite attention to my about page

The fact is that many Blacks NEED racism. They have developed a dependency on it, an addiction to it. People like Holder and Obama and Sharpton and Jackson have based their entire lives on it. And to a great extent our entire government is operating the same way! Everything is seen through the filter of racism. It is empowering. Without it they are lost, so they assert it even when it isn’t there. But that kind of fabrication has its limits.

What we heard from Holder was a plea for more of the drug upon which he was dependent. Like a junkie looking for a fix, he was calling us out to feed his addiction.

“The fact is that many Blacks NEED racism.”

Correct. Race hustlers and poverty pimps can’t live without it.

From the article: Racism exists in America only in the communities where it is stipulated, reinforced, and taught as a alternative to the veracity of hard work and lasting opportunity that is the real America.

Exactly. And racism is "taught" primarily in the black community and in the public schools.

As one-half of an interracial marriage that is now in its 37th year, I can personally vouch for the fact that nearly all racism we have encountered has come from the black community.

Racism exists in America only in the communities were it is stipulated, reinforced, and taught as a alternative to the veracity of hard work and lasting opportunity that is the real America. In other words, Mr. Holder, racism, where it exists in this country, is a political and cultural contrivance sustained and manipulated by people like you.

One of the things that sends up a red flag for me is that Obama wouldn’t be where he is if not for his white family. His black family totally abandoned him. His way of dealing with the abandonment was to write a romanticized book about his drunken violent father, who never gave him a second thought. Yet the grandmother, who is the driving force on his mother’s side of the family, made enough of a success to be able to send him to the finest schools. He treated granny shamefully during the election process, publicly labeling her a bigot.

I am so tired of hearing calls to have a “national conversation” on race. We’ve been having that conversation since the country was conceived. It is long past time to shut up about it.

Blacks want a National Conversation on race, but they only want their side presented. If you present the white side you are racist.

The thing I am sick of is that blacks are racist and wont admit it.This horse dung about you cane be racist if you arent empowered is a boatload of crap.

It'd be a great start if Holder would put an end to his fellow liberals' habit of taunting conservative blacks with Oreo cookies and race-based insults like house N-words.

Fat chance.

" ... We know why the left selfishly denies Nathan Bedford Forrest the forgiveness he has earned, but why should we withhold it? ..."

We should not.

To judge the American people and events of yesteryear in the "enlightened" times of today is to be, at best, factually ignorant, and at worse a lying propagandist, who is bent on the destruction of the ideals of the American people.

I'll have none of it.
