It's not like Obama needed any Bush precedent to be able to declare some kind of martial law. Furthermore, Bush never abused executive power to any “evil ends”. The POTUS is always as restrained as it wants to be in the end. A wicked man holding such a position will not be constrained by any past office holder's use of discretion or sound judgment.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Bush is responsible for Obama’s misuse of laws.

I’m just saying, that’s ALL Obama needs is more leeway to do what he wants. And you are right, even so, he doesn’t need any Bush precedent...and he is indeed a wicked man with a wicked administration behind him. ;(
