"The conservative intelligentsia who react against her have remarkably little to say that will stand up to scrutiny. "

Well, here are two criticisms that can stand up. Her inability to speak more than grammatically correct complete sentences in a row without a teleprompter and her lack of knowledge on foreign and domestic policy issues as demonstrated in her interview with Couric and the debate (when she didn't correct the lunatic Biden about Lebanon).

She also fared poorly in the one-on-one with Couric in a way that a Thatcher or a W or a Reagan never would.

Her lack of intellectual curiosity and inarticulateness (making her very un-Reaganesque on both counts) is what makes me not support her for 2012.

Even Ann Coulter made it clear that she will not be ready in 4 years.

Huh? You offering her lessons??? (LOL- Just joking- you must have left something out)

I understand your reluctance. She has limitations- they all do. We'll see.

Have we seen any video of Reagan or Thatcher in interviews when entering politics? Of course, Reagan was an actor, and he had skills, but I'm not so sure about Maggie Thatcher. Our memories of them are colored by their superior skills later in their careers.

As for your comments about her inability to speak without a teleprompter, are you aware that during her acceptance speech the teleprompter got off track, but no one knew it, because she continued her speech without any trouble?

As far as her knowledge of international politics, she's a smart lady, and she'll pick it up as she needs to do so, and would have done quite well, had McCain been elected, and she had become Veep.

She was more qualified than EITHER That One, or Smilin Joe with his 64 perfectly white teeth.

Based upon your rigid criteria, Lydon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama were not and are not presidential material.

Your comments are exactly what Sowell is debating concerning Academia’s standards for a president and what the common people want and need.

Barack Obama was terrible w/o a teleprompter and thinks we have 57 states, he made so many geographical errors during the debates I was screaming the responses thru the tv for McCain.

And so by your standard of what makes for a proper candidate and ergo president you must be mightily pleased with our newly minted scholarly president with his degrees from Occidental, Columbia, Harvard [did I miss any??].

Face it he’s a dud. And Sarah can learn plenty over the next 4 years of just observing this 3 ring circus master on what NOT to do.
