No terror talk: Homeland Security head's new tone

WASHINGTON (AP) — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano avoids mentioning terrorism or 9/11 in remarks prepared for her first congressional testimony since taking office, signaling a sharp change in tone from her predecessors.

Napolitano is the first homeland security secretary to drop the term "terror" and "vulnerability" from remarks prepared for delivery to the House Homeland Security Committee, according to a copy obtained by The Associated Press.

Tom Ridge, who headed the agency when it was launched in 2003, mentioned terrorism 11 times in his prepared statement at his debut before the oversight committee in 2003. And in 2005 Michael Chertoff, the second secretary, mentioned terrorism seven times, according to an AP analysis of the prepared testimonies. [snip]

The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee doesn't mention terrorism or 9/11 in his prepared remarks for Wednesday's hearing either. Securing the borders, responding to natural disasters, ensuring transportation safety, protecting critical infrastructure and administering grants are the priorities, Mississippi Democrat Bennie Thompson says. [snip]

Pressed further on the absence of terror vernacular, she said she has been working with members of President Barack Obama's national security team since the November election, and she's regularly briefed on "incidents around the world." She doesn't single out terrorism "because it's almost become part and parcel of what we do everyday."

Hmmm..., after the government and officials telling us for years how we are guaranteed another big terrorist attack that will get through, and how it’s not “if” they will get through — but simply when they will get through — now apparently — we’re going to hide this information from the public and keep it quiet about the coming terrorist attack...

Yep, just a law enforcement problem. Arrest them, read 'em their rights, nice jury trial, all the expensive defense attorneys they want, national security classified info subpoenaed and splashed through the media. And, after acquittal on a technicality, all the court officials and jurors can get together and sing Kumbaya.

Makes me feel real safe, you betcha.

So I guess that means we don’t need a Department of Homeland Security. Or a Director.

Of course, it won’t be disbanded, what with all those billions just begging to be spent on liberal agenda. Watch for it. The DHS is going to be turned into an extension of the welfare department...”protecting” our country’s future by “investing” in urban at-risk youth after-school (indoctrination)programs and —*cough*—immigrant services.

maybe if they don’t talk about terrorism, it will stop

if any little thing happens it can just be handled as a “challenge”

gosh, I can sleep better tonight

The new color code is now only “Code Pink”.

Along with Mauve, Teal, and of course, Lavender.

If she does not recognize that muslim terrorism is the single largest threat to HOMELAND SECURITY then what the hellis she doing in that position?

Just one very big reason that Arizona is in the shape that it is in today.

The ONLY good thing is that she is no longer running Arizona. Sorry about the rest of the world.
