I am not sure I understand you, can you state this differently. It sounds as though you are saying that Obama does believe in God but he made Randi think that he didn’t.
What I’m saying is that Obama CLAIMED to believe in God. James Randi said he understood that it was just something he had to say as a politician implying that Obama must not really believe in God, but said so because it was politically expedient to say so.
In other words, Obama became the blank chalkboard for an Athiest proving that people project their own desires on Obama.
Phil Plait, the “Bad Astronomer” saw Obama as the “Science President”, that he was going to advance scientifically what all the middle ages Christians want to hold back. (yes, I respect him scientifically, but he is a moron in this respect) So even though Obama has put a non-scientist nincompoop in charge of reducing the cost of NASA, including dropping important programs, he is STILL being hailed as the Science President.
Two prime examples of people hearing what they want to hear and putting their own desires onto the President of Hopenchange.
