Opponents of teaching, or practicing abstinence persist in propagating the myth that those who advocate abstinence fail or refuse to teach about the use of measures to prevent conception. There is not reason to conclude that Bristol Palin and her boyfriend didn’t know about the glorious condom. But young folk. and even mature people, can permit themselves to get carried away by passion and do things that they may have resolved, in a cooler, more rational state not to do. And then they may forget about those precautionary measures as well. It happens in the best of families. Its called “the human condition.”

The robots of Planned Parenthood don’t put much stock in the “human condition.” One of my complaints about these people is that they understand as much about humanity as “Data,” the robot in Startrek. To them even emotion is a “program.” Funny thing is that Science Fiction is really the only genre in this seculkar world that explores the nature of humanity. “BattleStar Galactica” and “Terminator” also explore this theme.

Very well said. Is there any teenager out there who honestly doesn’t know what a condom is? Really? Abstinence-based education must also work on helping students to avoid peer pressure and the situations that create danger. It is fallacy to say that all kids will automatically have sex. Yes, all will be curious but not all will.
