I would have to say that the positive effects of having a good glass of wine far outweigh the negatives.

It’s France. They have no say over my Bourbon. They can keep their wine anyway, I’ll drink American if any, and that’s not much...

No, it’s never been good for you. Certain anti-oxidants in it — which can also be obtained from other sources — are partial antidotes to unhealthy habits like overeating and underexercising. You’ve always been better off skipping ALL the unhealthy habits, including wine, and if you insist on sticking with the others, better off getting the antioxidants from resveratrol.
