Can now add Kentucky to the list of states claiming state sovereignty

The TenthAmendmentCenter.com reported today that Kentucky State Rep. and Majority Whip John Will Stacy (D) introduced HCR168 (status page):

Declare state sovereignty over powers not given to the the federal government by the U. S. Constitution; demand the federal government to cease mandates beyond constitutionlly delegated powers; prohibit federal legialtion requiring state passage of laws under threat of penalties or sanctions; direct the Clerk to distribute copies of the Resolution.

This brings us to a total of 19 states now officially either submitting or passing legislation claiming state sovereignty with 9 other states planning or motioning towards such legislation for a grand total of 28.

Merely introducing a bill means bupkis. It has the same effect as Dennis Kucinich’s annual “Department of Peace” legislation. None.

Because the GOP is full of morons. If they had any brains they would make this front and center. But they blew all their credibility when they controlled government and ran massive deficits and increased the size of government. Not to mention the fact that No Child Left Behind ran right over States’ Rights.
