Toss this in... I expect the alphabet land agencies to administratively ban lead bullets and shot in the next couple years, and the epa to follow with a de facto ban on lead smelting and casting through unobtainable - outside a few industrial labs - emission standards.

Just as Prohibition produced the art of the "still" so will this produce other home remedies. Lead (like gold) melts at very low temps. Often an open flame like from a campfire or a fireplace can do the job. Bullet molds are easy to come by, too. There will be a huge black market on reloading ammo. This will be vastly more successful than the drug market or even the market for illegal guns and 10 times as difficult for the government to crack down on...
