Wars of choice must be avoided

Tell that to your Muslim and Leftist buddies.

Thank you all for your responses! A few of them even made sense (a little). Your replies ranged from the condescending (nathanbedford), to the hysterical (I am apparently a leftist, a Moslem-lover, an anti-Semite, I attacked the World Trade Towers, I caused World War II.), to the indecipherable (What is IBTZ? What is that cat doing? Bran muffin?)

I learned a great deal, for example I learned that neocons are a myth. Is Paul Wolfowitz really mythological, like the unicorn or the Loch Ness monster? I learned Wolfstar still thinks Saddam Hussein planned 9/11.

I imagine some of you squirming as you read my post, shouting at your computer screen - the murky basement echoing with your cries; then staggering to your feet, spilling Jack Daniels on your (already well-stained) t-shirt - the sharp liquor-smell striking your nostrils, waking up your mother (who lives upstairs), resolving immediately to fire off a response.

My crime: I don’t want the Republicans ripping each other’s throats. I’d rather see them win elections.

My points:
1) Pakistan possesses only a small fraction of the strength of the USSR, and Pakistan is an ally (sort of). Pakistan has nuclear weapons, but they are directed at India. If Pakistan gave any weapons to Al Qaeda that country would cease to exist.
2) Israel’s interests do not always exactly coincide with our own. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Those who are loyal to the United States of America first are not monsters. And why are we sending so much aid to Israel? How does the American taxpayer benefit?
3) One of the reasons for the Republican predicament is the Iraq War, which is not popular in the U.S. (kingu you are hiding from the facts.)
4) Let’s increase our influence in the Middle East: both economic and cultural. Gulf War II didn’t help. I understand Moslems used to admire the U.S. (We weren’t imperialists like the British.) Now they throw shoes at us.

back to basics: strong military, patriotism, pro-life, traditional values, small government, free enterprise, heal the split that is killing us

Finally, don’t tell yourself that I am some kind of moderate, dainty Republican. If I saw Al Franken I’d kick him down the stairs I promise you.
