A temporary ban remains in place against a state abortion law requiring ultrasounds.
Oklahoma County District Judge Vicki Robertson on Thursday refused to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the law. Another hearing is set to begin March 30.
The law requires an abortion doctor or medical technician to do an ultrasound at least an hour before the procedure and display the images of the unborn baby where the pregnant woman can see them. The doctor or technician also must describe what the woman is seeing including if the fetus heart is beating.
The law was passed last year but has never gone into effect because of the legal challenge. It also would put restrictions on use of the RU-486 abortion pill.
A Tulsa clinic, Reproductive Services, sued, complaining the law is vague, unconstitutional and in violation of a fundamental rights.
Reproductive Services does about 200 abortions a month and would have to shut if the law went into effect, its attorneys said.
It’s a violation of which party’s fundamental rights, huh?
Robertson, the pro-homosexual,pro-abortion, Ponca City ponce. She is the same one involved in the little dust-up with Judge Graves. To be kind, she is not well liked in Tulsa.
