Now, in this economy that is inflicting hardship on so many, the first lady is celebrated for her new vision of haute couture, while her social secretary socializes with the most glamorous names in the world of fashion. Change has indeed come to Washington.

The Obamas and the clintons are agreed on that much. They do it “because we can.”

She wears summer tea dresses to evening formal events. I think she is pretty clueless when it comes to fashion. The fashion industry would worship any woman married to 0, even if she walks like an NFL linebacker.

Of course it’s only a scandal when a republican indulges. Obama has just come off an inauguration three times more expensive than the next most pricey.

Third world masses need to see their “big man” living large.

And Michelle is oh-so-proud of showing off her lack of arm flab.

Us peasants can eat cake.

If they want to spend millions on redecorating the White House to get rid of the Texas redneck trash Bush left and wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars of fashionable clothes, so be it. At least it looks good on Michelle, unlike trailer park trash like Sarah Palin."

People fawning over this woman are just hilarious. What a perfect illustration of the old axiom “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Personally, I find the arses of baboons to be more sightly than she. Frankly, she looks like a man, she looks like she should be on a woman’s basketball team, and I think I can imagine what terms Don Imus would use to describe her...

I recently found this quote by Loretta Young:

“Wearing the correct dress for any occasion is a matter of good manners.”

She’s not clueless, she has bad manners!

LOL. At least Laura Bush is proud of her country. And Pres. Bush knew to let the Speaker introduce him in the Chamber, and that the US did NOT invent the automobile.

Michelle is flaunting her arms on purpose. A publicist for the campaign commented a long time ago on her arms, in order to give the press something complimentary to focus on. They are playing 3 card monte with the Oprah crowd. (Credit to the freeper who called it that already today.)

I agree. Her ‘prom’ dress was not appropriate for the inauguration. I didn’t feel that she didn’t know better; I believe she didn’t care. I think she wanted the night that Americans take to celebrate/welcome a new president to be about her status climbing - and so she wore a debutante dress to say I have ARRIVED!

She has well toned arms, yes. But she will wear sleeveless fashion in cold weather because she couldn’t quite face going to that non-state-of-the-union address without being singled out for particular attention for her arms! I believe she could be stately in the right clothing and with a little coaching, and that is more than I can say for myself. But stately isn’t enough attention for her. She thinks public events are about her or should be about her personally- even if it’s her husbands speech.
You know - that seems like it’s kind of ‘it’; she is trying to compete with Obama for prestige and attention. At present, she is employing her ‘style’ because it worked for Jackie Onassis. I keep reading that ‘people are comparing her to Jackie’ but no one ever admits that the comparison is unfavorable.

Why isn’t she being “rode hard and put away wet” like Sarah Palin was for clothes SHE GAVE BACK! This should be shoved in the face of every “journalist”, commentator, and bloviator at the alphabet networks! They need to back up their assertion that they are unbiased, because the only people who believe that is themselves!

Yeah, Michelle is such a looker. The only thing that would look good on her would be a burka. Palin is so beautiful that she could not look bad even if she tried.

Oh, I can see the similarities. Jackie was also a shallow status seeker, and the press worked very hard at giving her much undeserved favorable ink.

".............Michelle Obama'has taken a particular interest in showcasing the work of young up-and-coming designers who have chosen fashion as their path and who are artists in their own right and who are introduced at places like Fashion Week'.........."

The major designers worn by Michelle are hardly up and coming....Herrera, Karan and Jacobs

This is a good article....well written....exposes the Obamas for the fascist,white-hating elitists they truly are.

Maybe she will send her hand me downs to Obama's poor relatives in Kenya, if she is assured a photo op.

Michelle may be a beautiful lady, but she has an air of tragedy about her.

I'd prefer Vera Baker anyday.

This picture is from another era, you may refer to it as the “Larry Byrd” era, which is long gone. Women’s basketball teams of today do not resemble what is shown here, rather they are comprised of manly looking black lesbians, much like the current first lady.
