For the second time this week, the testimony of a key witness in Republican Norm Coleman's Senate election lawsuit was halted over a failure by Coleman's attorneys to disclose contacts she had with them before the trial.
Minneapolis poll worker Pamela Howell was testifying Friday about possible double-counting of some ballots in that Democratic-leaning city when it emerged that she had had e-mail contacts with Coleman's attorneys that weren't disclosed to Democrat Al Franken's team.
The three judges hearing the case were considering whether to toss out Howell's testimony.
Franken leads Coleman by 225 votes after a statewide recount completed in December. Coleman's legal challenge is in its fifth week.
Howell's testimony was struck earlier this week because she supplied written materials to Coleman's team that were not given to Franken's in violation of trial rules. She was reinstated Thursday because the three-judge panel hearing the case deemed it accidental....
The back-and-forth e-mails disclosed in court on Friday showed the efforts of Coleman's team to keep information about Howell private for as long as possible. She also asked them if she would be "coached" before testifying.
In asking the judges to strike her testimony Friday, Franken lawyer David Lillehaug said, "It is clear that her testimony was the linchpin for the Coleman original-duplicate ballot issue. That linchpin has been tainted, it has been corroded."...

How in the hell is it that millions and millions of people can go to an ATM any day of the year, any time of day and withdraw cold, hard cash, but we can’t implement a system that lets people vote for one and only one person without all this crap?
Time and time again we see Republicans snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Note to Coleman: nice guys finish last. Find our own Rahm Emanuel. Get Tom Delay back.

Do you actually believe that the Democrats want an uncomplicated, cheat proof voting system in place? They don’t.
Franken is a tax dodging idiot. He will fit in perfectly with this administration if he wins. The good people of Minneosta will have to suffer through Franken’s incompetence, nonpatriotism and nastiness. I still have a slight glimmer of hope that Minnesota will come to its senses and declare Coleman the winner.
The communists leadership in Washington and the State will see to it the Franken will become a Senator. They will corrupt anything to make sure that they have the 60 Senators to take over and convert our Republic to a Communist Government. And if Americans cannot see what is happening I feel sorry for them.
They got their key witness on this issue disqualified again after getting her first DQ reversed with a dog-ate-my-homework excuse. What clown college did Coleman recruit his legal team from?

Based on everything I’ve read, Coleman is a pretty sad excuse for a person as well. And we all know just how much having an “R” after your name really means.
