Feeling Bullish? (Larry Kudlow running against Chris Dodd??)
The Corner @ National Review Online ^ | February 27, 2009 | Kathryn Jean Lopez

Will Larry Kudlow run for senate against Chris Dodd? From Steve Moore:

Republicans in Washington think they may have found their man to pick up a Senate seat in Connecticut in 2010: Larry Kudlow, the former Reagan budget advisor, Wall Street economist and now CNBC TV news anchor. The Internet is abuzz with the chatter of a Kudlow for Senate boomlet, which has even hit the Drudge Report.

In an interview yesterday, Mr. Kudlow confirmed to me that he did sit down for dinner with Senate Republican Campaign Committee Chairman John Cornyn “to hear him out on the idea.”

I assume this is Dodd's seat?

Vast improvement.

Larry Kudlow for President!

Seriously though, I hope a business man runs in 2012 ala Forbes.

Oh, gimme a break. What gave you this idea? Kudlow is a very principled conservative; Catholic and pro-life too. He is a true Buckley acolyte. I would donate to Kudlow if he ran for sure.

Immigration is a big issue to me, but Larry would be by far the best we could get in CT—and CT as a state could be receptive to him. (He’s been quite open about some issues he had in the now-distant past.)

Agreed but he's better than Collins, Snowe, Specter, and certainly Dodd.

Almost everyone, except mubble mouth Barney Frank, is better than Chris Dodd. But why does Kudlow believe illegal immigration is okay? Is some money being slipped to him?

Kudlow: “As a free trader, I favor the Bush comprehensive immigration reform plan, which includes better border security, temporary worker cards, and ultimately, a path to citizenship.”

I too favor the free flow of labor, but there must be border security and any path to citizenship should start behind everyone currently in line.

Kudlow is the most pro-business, pro-corporations man seen on TV anywhere.

Kudlow’s politics are pure Reaganism. Connecticut would be lucky to have the chance to vote for him.

I watch Kudlow every day, and after 1000 hours plus of watching him, he is the most pro-growth, pro-business face seen on TV by me. So he is not snow white and pure. But he is surely better than Dodd or any other person with not the foggiest idea how business world operates and creates jobs.

Who is pure anyway? Certainly not any living politician. Give me a name and I will list you their short comings.

Like it or not, Kudlow is a very astute economist who recognizes something very important about the U.S. economy:

An economy can only grow through increases in population and improvements in productivity. We don't have a rate of productivity growth to support a substantial growth rate in our economy, and the brutal reality is that we've aborted 50+ million of our own children over the last 35 years.

I said nothing about Kudlows economic bona fides. I said he is an elitist who doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to illegal immigration, one of Reagan’s greatest failures.
