Romney is an opportunist, but he seems to be a fairly reliable opportunist. And one hell of an accomplished character. Possibly too accomplished. As someone pointed out, he looks like a male model for expensive business wear.

Still, if the Republicans want someone to wash away the “stupid party” smear, Romney would be it. Romney has actually accomplished something in the real world, outside politics, unlike Obama.

And he was fairly non-horrible on immigration, etc. during the primaries, unlike certain other candidates. If only he wasn’t a mormon...

“If only he wasn’t a mormon...”

That sentiment is really why he did not get the nomination in 08. Many evangelicals, especially in the south, just found his Mormon faith too much of an obstacle. And Huckabee siphened off many of them.

We’ll see if things change by 2012 after four years of Obama. As an evangelical, I also wish he were not a Mormon, but in the end Jerry Falwell was right-on when he said the following during his last TV interview: “We’re electing a President, not a Sunday School teacher.”

I don’t think you get it. No more RINOS, no more Romney. How can you listen to Rush, and then by the same token want to vote for a RINO like Romney? ::shakes head in disbelief::
