Horsetrading over the elements of gutting one more clear provision of the Constitution. "We'll give a little on guns if you help us trash the Constitution."

The Constitution of the United States:

The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State...

If they don't get a Constitutional Amendment, or first make the District of Columbia into the State of Columbia, they are once again showing their utter disdain for the Supreme Law of the Land.

I’m not willing to trade saner gun laws for DC for a constitution breaking, guaranteed Black Caucus vote in the House.

Free guns for everyone in DC?

Whoopee, phase one complete!

Phase two: Get all incumbents to shoot one another.

Phase three: rinse and repeat every election day.

1. Why should exercising your 2nd Amendment rights be difficult anywhere in the country? Could you imagine the media sounding alarm bells over some place becoming one of the “easiest” towns in the country to vote or voice one’s opinions?

2. How exactly will it become one of the easiest? Sounds to me like it’ll just move from North Korea / Chicago / NYC level difficulty to the mere burdens of the less extreme urban gutters...meaning still in the bottom 10% of America when it comes to infringements.

We can’t even get that in NYC, and they’re doing away with that where the darn president lives.
