Dear President Obama,
I am writing this letter to explain my concerns about the direction you are leading our nation. Last November, you were elected President of all Americans, not those who voted for you. Now, you are accountable to all of us.
When you took the oath of office, you swore to "faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." While I am not a legal scholar, I have read the Constitution many times. The Founders wrote it in plain English, I think, for a reason. It was not intended to be a document which generations of lawyers could parse, finding in it what they chose. The Constitution, as written, does two basic things: it prescribes and limits the powers of government. The Bill of Rights specifically delineates those rights of the people over which government may not exercise control.
My wife and I are the people you referred to in a recent speech. We purchased a modest home 20 years ago because we wanted to ensure we could make the payments. The mortgage will be paid off in six months. Over the 40 years we have been married, we have saved and invested conservatively. We are both retired now, and have sufficient income to live comfortably. You now want us to help people who either borrowed more than they could pay or were advanced more than they qualified for keep their homes. The story of the Ant and the Grasshopper comes to mind. Nowhere in the Constitution do I find language empowering the federal government to confiscate private property to distribute it to the general population; your advisors and Congressional cronies must be reading Das Kapital.
The Founders constituted the United States as a democratic republic based on personal liberty and opportunity. Such freedom implies that outcomes will differ based on personal abilities and motivations and individuals´ recognition thereof. Unfortunately, part of our nation believes it is entitled to share in the success of others. Nowhere in the Constitution do I find language empowering the federal government to guarantee equal outcomes, yet you are doing just that by redistributing wealth.
I know you were a disciple of socialist Saul Alinsky; you taught his community organizing precepts in Chicago. While much of academia and many of your supporters view socialism as just another way of organizing an economy, very few of them have any actual experience living in a state-run economy. There is a good reason: socialism has never resulted in prosperity save for the top echelon of politicians. In 1991, I visited France. Three things struck me: first, on every block was an office with "Socialiste" on the door. Second, begging on the street was an accepted career. Finally, I learned that the plethora of prepared food in stores was there because so few French can afford a flat with a kitchen. Our nation became the economic model for the world because individual men and women were free to build businesses and accumulate wealth; why would any thinking person, Mr. President, expect socialism to reinstate our nation´s prosperity?
Mr. President, you were elected to serve all the people of the United States. You are not a king and your margin of victory does not constitute a mandate for radical change. In the campaign, you promised to seek bipartisanship. That means seeking input before policies or legislation are drafted, not browbeating opposition party legislators into supporting poorly-conceived spending bills with no time to research what the bills actually contain. You promised a return of integrity, yet you seem unable to fill your cabinet with people whose integrity is above reproach. You talk about responsibility while spending borrowed money that my great-grandchildren will be required to pay off.
I do not wish you failure, Mr. President, but please be aware that if you continue to ignore those who did not support your election and take our economy down the road to socialism and all that portends, We the People reserve the right to fire you four years hence.
Sincerely
Gary Loftis
IMO our republic won’t last 4 years of this Marxist clown
First, the letter is entirely too nice.
Second, you cannot reason with these people. They must be crushed.
The first step are the ‘10 elections.
I was silently cheering the writer up to this last sentence, which is about the emptiest threat you could make to a committed Socialist/Marxist usurper.
The final thrust of his letter should have implied that We The People reserve the right to fire Obama forthwith, if he does not abandon his Socialist goals for America.
Sure we will. The way this clown’s numbers are going, he’ll be so unpopular that no one in his own party will want to be seen with him.
That will really shake him up. BHO thinks he can trample the 47% of the people that didn't vote for him. That should be a two way street.
He doesn’t care what “we the people” say. He’s the king now.
Well said.
Right on.
The letter writer also forgot to ask O about the divisiveness he is causing by addressing the State of the Black Union the other day. I thought there was only one union. He’s a race hustler.
He is like his Muslim brethren, hell-bent on our destruction! I have no doubt anymore that his goal is the degradation of America.
I don’t care what his views or ideaologies what I do concern myself with is the destructive nature and consequences of his actions. He and his ilk (pelosi, reid, franks, schumer ad nauseum) are quickly becoming enemy combatants.
I've been saying for some time now that the American people's situational awareness is behind the curve of actual events and realities. The Obots are inside our OODA Loop (google it).
In other words, most Americans still hold the idea that they still have representation in our government, and that that representation will respond to their grievances, if they just put enough effort into their communications.
Excuse me, but according to most reports, prior to Congress passing the SwindleUs bill, phone calls from constituents to their reps were burning up the DC phone lines at 100 to 1 against the bill. It passed anyway, because (at least) the Democrats ignored the onslaught of opposition coming from the citizens.
American citizens still hold the idea that they can turn to the Judicial Branch of the government to put the Legislative Branch in check, but the highest court in the land has refused to look at a single challenge to Obama's eligibility to hold office, and has instead, dismissed every one of these cases due to "standing".
The fact is, the government "of the people, by the people, and for the people", has been hijacked by a Socialist oligarchy which will do exactly as it likes, the people be damned.
Situational awareness, people. We must confront the reality and actual events on the ground as they really are, if we hope to develop, organize, and execute a successful recapture of our country.
Or sooner as the situation warrants!
I applaud your intentions, and its a well-thought out letter. You can always try (no harm done)
My guess is your reply will be:
Dear Gary,
“I WON”
Sincerely,
Barak
‘Dear Mr. President’..BS!
He will NEVER be my president!
No, we can't do that!
He is perceived as being black - although in reality he is half white and half Arab - but with darker skin than the norm for white Americans!
We racists and non muslims, are not allowed to dissent,
Zer0 is the CHOSEN ONE,
(although, if a clerk in Hawaii can be ‘persuaded’ to uncover his birth record - or lack thereof said clerk could become very rich!)
Any election after ‘10 will be suspect if control of the census is vested in Rahm Emmanuel and the White House. Little attention is being paid to the biggest, boldest power grab since FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court.
A liltweak here, a lil tweak there, and the ‘blue states’ pick up any number of Congressional District or maintain their present number despite loss of real population. Including illegals in the populations of SW states’ censuses will give their electoral votes permanently to the democrat candidate.
I agree with you. IMHO he won’t be Prez that long...only long enough to cause as much damage as possible....he also one heck of a puppet for Pelosi and her gang.
He’s acting like a little kid in the candy store with money we don’t have....burning a hole in his pockets! I think he’ll dump and run or get dumped after they’re through with him.....signing all of their pet projects! He’s already caused more damage and spent more than Bush did in 8 years, including the cost of the war!
