BIRMINGHAM, Ala. A potent March snowstorm blanketed much of the Southeast with snow Sunday before barreling toward the Northeast, where officials prepared snowplows and road-salt for a wintery assault.
The icy blast threatened to drop up to a foot of snow in the Philadelphia area, 13 inches in New York and 15 inches across southern New England late Sunday.

Proof positive that....weather happens.
Freaking ninety here in Tucson tomorrow.
it’s now called climate change. It can’t be tolerated. The weather should always be the same just like everyone’s income and IQ in this new socialist Obamanation.
It’s not snowing here in east Texas, But there will be frost on the ground this AM.
Climate change- Weather!
We had snow today for several hours here in middle GA. Believe me, it’s a rare thing and folks were loving it. We had some pretty, big, fluffy flakes too!
Oops...that would be snow on Sunday...I forgot it’s 3am :)
We had isolated local flurries here in the Charleston, SC area. A large mass of rain and snow was coming in from the West but the storm broke up before it got here. I don’t think there’s anything on local radar now.
Coldest winter in 14 years here. It’s rarely been warmer than -25c since the middle of November. -39c last Thursday on the drive to work.
Aha! We now know that Arizonans are guilty of man-made global warming!
Stop right now! You give the other 49 states a bad name. Algore blames all of us. LOL
I got caught in this driving from Atlanta to Houston today. I asked the people in my van if they thought global warming was still real lmao.
Here in central NC, we got around 4-5 inches, wind chill in the teens. Beautiful! Biggest snow here since 2004!
Northern Virginia here- I’m surrounded by steep hills in the new house, and it doesn’t look like anything has been plowed. Neither my cul-de-sac nor the connecting cross street even has any tire tracks in it.
Looks like I’m not going anywhere, today.
LOL - I’m in Richmond and woke up to prepare for work, ck’d cell phone and supervisor left message to ‘stay home, see you tomorrow’.
Oh yeah- that snow melty stuff I slathered all over my (steep) driveway last night? It got *overwhelmed*.
Snow forecast for Tokyo tomorrow, I just heard. We had some last week but it didn’t stick.
Woke up to 5” snow on top of an inch plus of frozen sleet and slush. Odd, how completely weighed down the trees are, as windy as it’s been. Several large broken limbs in my yard alone.
No traffic moving, most companies closed, all schools closed.
It’s beautiful, though.
I’m hardpressed to think of one good thing Al Gore has brought into the World.
I’m headed your way today. We were hoping for spring when we passed south of Atlanta.
We may be very cold campers tonite
