According to one report I heard. She was told to take off her shoes.

Not a smart way to do it, but no excuse for the beatdown she got.

To me no but also have known people the actions shown could cause it. So I guess you are on record as saying that she was kicked?

If this girl was apprehended driving a car that had been reported stolen then her skills as a manipulator and sassy little bitch are probably quite superior to those you and I have encountered in our parenting! I had a daughter and later a niece that went through that stage. If I hadn't been desensitized by the experience with my daughter several years before the niece came along I probably would have killed her. We thought our daughter was an award-winning sassy bitch, but the niece put her in the shade.

That having been said, the office involved should not be where he is. But then as basic parenting skills circle the drain these days it's getting harder and harder to find someone who has what it takes to handle a full-blown bitchy-sassy in-your-face kid, especially female.

The two unjustified round house punches in he face put me way over

So, the violent body slam by a 200+ (guessing) pound man against a 120 pound (guessing again) female was O.K. with you?

As I posted previously, it reminds me of the little old lady getting unecessarily body-slammed by the JBT in New Orleans after Katrina.

TOTALLY uncalled for and unecessary, and should result in a firing, a civil suit, and possible criminal charges against the cop.

Agree with you there on both counts: she should not have acted out and deserved some “controlling” but the officer was way over the line with the fists.

In the era of video, curbside justice is long a thing of the past, perhaps unfortunately.

The local police dept is hiring.( high cost town ). I told this little blond girl to apply. Why? She deals with head case trauma, retarded people, strokes so she’s good at figuring out where people are coming from.

What I was getting at is a lot of cops come out of MP/military, physical force environments. Which is really, really bad for citizens working as police. (Police are not police. They are town citizens employed by a town department, and not a special race of ubermen)

I grew up in a poduk small town where the police thought every little human vice was a SWAT team exercise. I used to like drinking in the big city because the cops were so much more relaxed. I can remember a veritable gang of us, drunk, outside of a stripper bar, and an old Boston street cop basically sweet talked us all into going home. Thinking back on it it was a expert display of crowd psychology, although lately the Boston Police have had a SWAT growth habit of shooting drunk white kids in the face.

Anyways, a good police department should like football coaches and fighter pilots have reviews of police tapes.

My gut feeling is that youths are more bitchy today, although Billy the Kid was stabbing at 15, Hell’s Kitchen in New York and my general readings of crime, murder seem to stay constant over time.

On the cops side, I’ve seen Youtubes where the cop was a patient as Zen master and gave the person a good ten minutes to vent.

Maybe the no smoking Nazis are responsible. At least in those days the cop could light up, stare at the birds and the trees, scratch his ass and wait until the little mental storms blow themselves out.

The reason police have jobs is because of ‘acting out’.

Flipping out, because people who are acting out, and then arrested and then act out is like wanting to be a fisherman and now wanting to get wet.

This little low watt, hormonal she-bitch wasn’t any threat to that officer. If so, he should quit. She no doubt was before, pushing his buttons. He was getting mad, taking it personal and basically losing control. The sneaker flip was the bureaucratic ‘item’ that allowed him to t-off on her. I bet if there was audio of way before there was a verbal, body language dynamic where by the little twat was successfully engaging him.

No telling what this guy might of have or would do to some drunk, kid, black dude out on a road some night that was a little mouthy and reaching for his cell phone or something.

You are now also on record as believing both officers did not tell the truth in their written reports.

So I guess you are on record as saying that she was kicked?

As best I can tell from the video, yes.

Well he had to cover up. If he wrote his report as the event happened, he would of convicted himself.

You know, if this was the guys only incident, I’d upon anger counseling, some more education in psychology, I’d be tempted to give him another try. People can change.

Further, and I don’t know, but I suspect that LEO schooling/training is more on physical techniques and insufficient on psychology, anger bla, bla, soft squishy stuff like that.

On the other hand, there are so many bs laws that must be irriating to en-FORCE, and every year the Fwk-wad legislators dump more and more crap laws on cops, and parents and school teachers( sorry, teachers shouldn’t make cops do their work) that you can not blame the metamorphosis of cop culture to become ever more separated from the people. Who would be? On one end you have grown adults calling you to do their dirty work, and the other end the usual crime suspects. It’s like being in one large domestic dispute that never ends.

Also the self selection of LEO coming from more physical spectrum/ex mil/ football players stuff like that, when in fact in my mind, police are mostly a political organization that happens to have guns.

Maybe this little she-bitch will get drunk and roudy and try this in a Mexican jail some day. Karma, it happens.

Oh I now see your game.

So you are on record as saying both of these officers beat this poor pacifistic girl till she could no long walk and had to drag her out of the cell to further pummel her out of camera range.

I did not state I did not believe them, though given history I’m inclined to believe the primary deputy has a very short fuse. I also did not state I did believe her. I made a judgment on the evidence presented. Plus knowledge collected in 45+ years. I would hope when the case is tried more evidence than 30 seconds of video will be presented. As for a kick the only thing I saw that came close was a common block as he entered the room. The 2 punches after she was down are another matter.

one silver lining may be that she never steals a car again, allegedly or for real.

I said nothing of the kind. If you claim otherwise, produce the quote.

I did not state I did not believe them,

Here's the exchange:

Me in #55: ...do you think there is any way her shoe caused the injuries they claim?

kadric in #62: To me no but also have known people the actions shown could cause it.

So do you believe them or not?

Not the majority who will notice who is working for the tax payers there and who is not.

Not the majority who will notice who is working for the tax payers there and who is not STEALING from them.

I am sorry, you must have have a different video in mind. NO ONE in the clip of the 15yo being beating in jail is stealing in the video. That is unless you want to stretch the definition of stealing to include a deputy on paided duty and assaulting someone in custody or a deputy on paid duty failing to arrest a criminal who committed an assault in front of them. So in these two cases people will observe who is being paid and who is stealing from the tax payers in the video and they are one in the same.

She was in jail for stealing a car (presumbably from a taxpayer). The cost of dealing with the theft (beyond the direct costs to the owner of the vehicle) are borne by the taxpayers. So in that sense, the victim of the beating allegedly is stealing from the taxpayers even if you wish to parse that statement in that the perp is not actively stealing anything IN the video.

Huh? Cop was way out of line. Scary that he carries a gun. He should be in jail himself.

No I parsed the statement that the perps in the video were stealing from taxpayers. One perp was assaulting a person in custody while on the taxpayers’ dime and the other perp was failing to make an arrest of a crime he witnessed while on the tax payers’ dime.

As is always the case with someone in custody, they may or may not have perpetrated a crime. The two confirmed perps we know because we have the video of the perpetrating their criminal acts.

The little bitch had it coming, but the Cop lost it and he should now lose his job.

I know what you mean to say, but the facts are she did not have it coming or the cop would not be facing charges. What you probably mean to say is that she did not handle the situation well, not unlike one might expect from a 15yo. He on the other hand handled it far worse and he is well into adulthood and carrying a badge and gun.

A cop's job is to enforce the law. This deputy appears to think his job description includes doling out justice. It doesn't matter that the girl has a bad attitude, the cop should be prosecuted for battery.

That pretty much says it all in three clear sentences.
