Mr. President, Americans think you're the man.
President Obama is more popular than ever, according to a new poll that shows two-thirds of the country feels "hopeful" about Obama's leadership.
Obama now has a 60% approval rating, and people feel things are looking up since he took office, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
The percentage of those who say the country's "headed in the right direction" has skyrocketed compared to the number who felt that way before Obama took office.
Now, 41% of Americans say the country's going the right way, compared to 26% who thought so just before Obama's inauguration.
Forty-four percent of those polled still say the country's on "the wrong track" but "given the economic conditions, pollsters expected it to be much higher," the Journal said. The survey found "a record 70%" of people very dissatisfied with the economy.
Of course, not everyone likes the new president: About 28% of those polled said they feel "doubtful" about his plans.
Most Americans still back Obama's expansive economic stimulus program, the poll found even though a majority also feel it will help the economy only a little or possibly not at all. [snip]

You might want to check the attribution on that quote. True as it is, I don’t think that Ben said those words.
He will probably be the same as Clinton. He could spit on the American people and a majority will still swoon and think how wonderful he is because he cares! Forty one percent now say all of a sudden we are on the right track? Brilliant. Throughout most of Bush’s presidency that number was not that high even when the economy was doing great. Just shows what media bias and stereotypes about Republicans v. Dems can do.
60% approval is not all that high I don’t think. What was Bush’s at this point? I remember Carter’s being in the high 60s in the spring of 1977.
There is now way I believe that poll.
where’s the barf alert?
NO HE’S NOT:
1.) In typical MSM fashion, this poll oversamples Democrats by almost 14 points — 7-8 points higher than it should be.
2.) REALCLEARPOLITICS (RCP) puts Obama’s average JA rating at 59.8% today . . . And, actually, his rating is even lower than that given that today’s Gallup tracking poll (which oversamples Democrats by a margin larger than NBCNews) shows Obama’s JA rating down again at 61% vs the 63% for the RCP average.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html
3.) REMEMBER: It took the MSM/DNC/HOLLYWOOD/BIG EDUCATION machine over THREE YEARS to drive President Bush’s JA rating below 60% . . . It’s taken Obama a mere 1 1/2 months to drive his own JA rating below 60%!
he did win the election...
The quote has been attributed to several historic figures. I’m well aware. If you drop that quote into Google, the first item mentions Ben Franklin. Oh well.
WOW, an increase from 80%!
April Fool! We sure had you going, huh?
Oops, it’s only March. Sorry.
You calling this poll BS?
Probably involves more BS than truth.
Now there. Those are the kind of people they are surveying. They also said that the were going to paint their houses orange to keep away mosquitoes, even though they were absolutely sure it wouldn't work.
Actually if this was Pres Bush, the headline would of read odumbos approval plummets from 81 pct to 60 pct in the first month
LOL there you go looking at facts again!
...and what are Republicans saying? Let’s hear it, guys. C’mon. You all know on the substance Hussein is in way way way over his head.
So speak up.
Election was in November, this is March, things change.
These numbers fail to impress. Less than half think the country is headed in the right direction?
No, he is not.
Know several Intel engineers who supported Obama and had Obama bumper stickers on their cars.
Not anymore.
So this is a poll of people who have no investments, no job and no real prospects for participating in capitalism?
