"Lady, if you don't shut up, I'm gonna kick 100 percent of your ass!"
MickyD's dropped the ball. The manager should have refunded her.
Tell it to the people Monty Rissell killed.
No question about it.
But can you imagine any McDonald's in the country who would refuse to give you a refund if something you ordered wasn't in stock?
I can't imagine it, either.
There's something we're not being told here...
What concerns me is the actions of McDonalds.
As I understand it, she ordered & payed for chicken nuggets. McDonalds was out of nuggets, but rather than tell the woman this before the purchase, they took her money & refused to refund it. Instead, they insisted she order something else of the same value, citing a “no refunds” policy.
That is outrageous! If McDonalds or any other retailer does me this way & refuses to refund my money when they are out of the item I ordered, I will NEVER shop there again, & I'll make sure management knows this.
The idea that a retailer can take my money & then force me to accept a substitute product is wrong & unacceptable!!! Next, they will put whatever they want in your bag, regardless of what you ordered - Sorry, NO REFUNDS!
BTW, McDonalds DID refund her the money after all this mess!
Carlos Solorzano, operations manager for all McDonald's restaurants in Florida, issued a statement Tuesday apologizing for the incident.
"Satisfying each and every customer that visits our restaurants is very important to us," Solorzano said. "Regarding this isolated incident, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. In the event that we are unable to fill an order, a customer should be offered the choice of a full refund or alternative menu items. We regret that in this instance, that wasn't the case."
"We want to correct our mistake. We will be sending the customer her refund, along with an invitation to return for her original order, on us. We never want to disappoint a McNuggets fan or any McDonald's customer. Customer satisfaction is our top priority."
Goodman said she'll continue to go to McDonald's, but she also said she'd order with a little more caution next time.
"I'm not going and just giving up my money like that, no, but I'm going to ask them would they please check and see if they have what I want on the menu, and if they tell me yes, then I will order," she said.
“Strongarm robbery is an emergency.”
Get a grip! 911 is what you call when your husband has a heart attack, falls off the roof, you see someone with a gun breaking into your house. Not McNuggets! She should have complained, asked for someone else, filed a complaint with the regional office, BBB. She’s an idiot! And so was the McManager. But 911? Get a grip!
Her problem probably stems, at least in part, becauce she self-medicates and her police record reflects that fact. She is a product of the entitlement mentality of her family and she has no social skills with which to work. Any halfway savvy person would have rectified this situation on their own and probably come out way ahead. Now this gal will probably get a reality show on BET.
Reminds me of the picture we had on the FR threads a few years back where 2 cops are hauling away a full-sized inflatable Ronald McDonald clown with the caption under it, “The b%%ch set me up!”
To answer whether the woman was lying, view the video that plays the 911 audio here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29533731/
I don’t know who that is or what it remotely has to do with the issue (whether it is a 911-justified emergency not to receive a refund for an unfilled fast-food order). You’ll probably reply, but I definitely won’t read it, as you are wasting my time.
Call corporate and probably get a month's worth of coupons for free food. The manager is an idiot and sometimes you just have to face that fact and move on.
Can’t view from here, but what’s the bottom line (on whether she is fibbing)? Thanks.
The direct dial to the chief, and most investigators may not be listed, but there is always a non-emergency number.
She asked McDonald’s to give her a McDouble instead and refund her the difference. They said they could not refund the difference, but instead told her to choose something else to make up the differnece. She then asked for her money back and they refused.
I heard at least portions of the 911 calls, and the 911 operators should have given her the non-emergency number to call. Instead, they discussed her complaint at length.
My guess is that the woman isn’t the brightest and didn’t know any number for the police but 911.
Those folks call 911.
In fact, the very first use of the telephone was to make an emergency call ~ "Mr. Watson, come here, I want you". He'd spilled some battery acid on himself.
Obviously he should have stepped under the laboratory shower and kept that line free for more serious police business.
999 was the number you called in UK as early as 1937 just to reach a central dispatcher who'd connect you with the police, fire department, or ambulance service. Which is interesting ~ the first system like this was simply a universal number to call to get the cops.
Seems like a nice idea.
There is hope for her after all, most of those in that situation are too stupid to realize they have made a spectacle of themselves.
Why do I have this feeling that you are a former 911 emergency call dispatcher ~
The BET show I don’t mind, I don’t watch the network.
Thats what it sounds like to me too. It wasn't an emergency, but I can understand how she would call 911 for a theft.
