A truck is not capable of carrying an arsenal. If you need to rent your own U-Haul van just for your firearm collection, you have an arsenal.

Not including ammunition

So the poor kid was just heading to Maine? He’s protected by FOPA ‘86.

I’m sure the “arsenal” includes several types of “cop-killer” ammunition, “assault rifles”, and “military-grade” weaponry. Asshat media in full bloom.

One question for the cop lovers. Was the cop that did this a good cop or a bad cop? If you inforce immoral laws, are you still moral? Hank

You need to know the mindset of most people in MA. They worship the law, what ever it is, just like the rest of us worship God. They can recite all of the traffic laws like wana-be lawyers. They know all of the daconian gun laws, etc.

This kid took a chance and lost. I feel sorry for him.

I lived in MA my first 18 years and by the grace of God, was saved from that evil place around 30 years ago. I now live in the deep, deep south were we are still relatively free.

I hope the kid is protected. I think the problem may be that he lives in Mass????? I hope not. This is insanity.

Even if he lives in MA - doesn’t the second protect him as to the type of gun?

Brass knuckles probably not a good idea. Are they legal?

“Well, it'll rest on whether they found the stuff in his cab or in the truck bed. If he had the guns and ammo in the cab, he was not following the Federal law that protects him. I don't know enough about the law to know how that works out.”

In the cab would be all right if the guns were unloaded and the case were locked. That rule is made for vehicles that do not have a trunk to lock items in. If the police broke the lock on the gun case, it is another advantage for him. It does not appear to me that the police had probable cause to search the vehicle. I doubt that mere possession of ammunition is illegal, but Massachusetts may routinely violate people's rights for all I know.

I suspect he will end up paying a heavy price , one way or another. If he has kept his mouth shut, he may come out on top and win a court settlement, but he will have to be smart about it. He may be, it does not say anything about consent to search or a confession.
