the inspector repeatedly ordered him to turn the car

I would likely have pepper-sprayed him sooner. Damn, lazy bureaucrats...

I cannot believe that the worship of jack booted thugs continues on this forum.

Where did I "worship jackbooted thugs"? (Nice cliche.)

If a VISITOR to my country is going to be an annoying priss, he should turn around. But I didn't "worship" the guard, I made specific points, some for and some against his actions. If my post was too complicated for you to understand, please, go scream to someone else.

And just chill out, huh, Mary?

You have the right to demand that they represent your country by treating law abiding visitors in a civil fashion and making them feel welcome to our country. I don't believe there is any such "right to demand" civil behavior in the visitors guidebook. By whose testimony are we judging that this guard was in any way rude or overly officious? The guy who was unrealistically demanding pleasantries that's who. I cannot believe that the worship of jack booted thugs continues on this forum. The officer should be fired. He works for us and it is not his private little country. And I cannot believe the level of idiotic and anti-American police spewing hatred that comes from the mouth of those like yourself. Neener, neener, neener.

As a taxpayer I have a perfect right to demand that public employees treat visitors in a civil fashion, whether some officious bureaucrat put it in the offical behavior guidebook or not. Whatevever happened to common sense, common decency and common courtesy. Oh I forgot. In their race to hell conservatives abandoned all of that. Want to know why 0 was elected. Look in a mirror. That rude ugly mug of conservatism you are looking at is why.
