President-elect Barack Obama’s newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot “red flags,” according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com.

According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002.
Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint (click here to read) but the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) (click here to read) of having “failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.”

Even if Bush’s and Mac’s effort were sincere,(and I have some doubts,) they didn’t have what it took to get past the likes of Franks and Schumer. That’s not what I would call sound leadership. Then, they didn’t even have the guts to bring it to a vote in the senate. That’s what I would call both a failure to lead, and a failure to act.
With the likes of Schumer and Franks guarding the gates of the money tree plantation, and the total failure of republicans to have what it took to get past the gay guards, it’s no wonder we are in such dire straits.
When are you running for office to show us what a great leader you would be? It seems that Bush was so bad, that you could do a so much better job blindfolded with your hands tied behind your back.
I take it you think Obama will be a great leader when he allows Conyer’s investigation of Chenney and Bush to go through?
