The proper way to stand up is through serious litigation and protest, not to hang around with stupid criminals using cockamamie legal theories to perpetrate various scams, but you are not serious and FR is not a place for Trolls.

They didn't pay their taxes, so they are tax-cheats, but where is the proof that they are trying to secede? I didn't see it. Is this the government's attempt to shut people up on this?

Anybody who takes what any federal law enforcement officer says at face value is totally detached from reality. Once they set their sights on you they will lie through their teeth to get a conviction.
I work with a guy who was arrested and ended up serving 3 years in Marion on federal weapons charges. His crime? Posessing the capacity to manufacture automatic weapons. Did he have any automatic weapons? No. But he had a huge military gun collection AND he worked in a machine shop.
Trying to explain how bogus the charges were and what they tried to do to him would take hours. Even the judge who heard the case was shocked at the feds arrogance and ineptitude. But in a bench trial the judge found him guilty and sentenced him to the minimum. He told my fellow employee he was sorry he had to do it but if he didn’t the feds would probably retry the case with another judge who was less friendly to gun owner defendants.
BTW, the guy I work with was a marine and worked in intelligenc. Prior to his arrest he believed America was a great nation and truth and honor always prevailed. Needless to say, not to much now.
In the higherarchy of federal law enforcement I think you’ll find the best and brightest go to the CIA and NSA, the not so bright go to the FBI and the dim bulbs go to the ATF.
