Poor Baby Obama: I Have To Make The ‘Really Hard’ Decisions
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/08/2009 6:30:37 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Two big stories emerged from Pres. Obama’s interview with New York Times reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday:

1. we have a whining, self-pitying president. 2. The Times scrubbed from its article the worst of the president’s comments, the ones that revealed him in that self-pitying light.

Fortunately, the Today show had the tapes, and played them this morning. According to Today, when President Obama met with reporters from the New York Times yesterday aboard Air Force One, his goal was “trying to sound hopeful and reassuring.” Mission not accomplished. As ambivalent as were the president’s putatively reassuring words on the economy, the delivery was even worse–halting and anything but assured. Be sure to view the video.

But much worse was his whining when it came to the burdens of his office:

PRES. OBAMA: I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.

A bit later came this stunning statement, edited out of the Times story but broadcast by Today

Good lord, just when I think I can't dislike this guy anymore than I already do, along comes this kind of thing.

WHAAAAAAA! It's HARD being president!

Maybe if you weren't up all night partying like a college kid you wouldn't feel so overwhelmed.

You know, I laughed to myself when someone here suggested he wouldn't last four years but would resign. I still don't believe that will happen, but it doesn't seem to unrealistic.

Would a President Plugs be an improvment?

I’m sure he did his share of “Oh no, NOW what”, but he NEVER let anyone see it or hear it. He was always, always self-assured in the decisions he made in what he believed were the best interests of America.

Per Joe Biden, I am waiting for the major crisis that will occur within Obama’s first six months. My bet is it will be an attack by Israel against Iran. And Obama will make that “hard decision” to support Israel and piss off his supporters.

What do we expect from someone who has never run a business, just showed up in the Illinois Legislature, has been only a US Senators for little more than a year and spent that time campaigning and whose major life activity was being a community organizer? Obama has never had to make a tough decision in his life and I don’t think has the character to act decisively in a crisis. Hillary was right, he is not the guy you would want answering that 2 am phone call in the White House. I shudder to think how he will respond to a real crisis like an terrorist attack on the US when he doesn’t have time for teleprompters, polling data and political spin doctors.

Well, I hate to say it again, but this country deserves the government that it elects, and this is it.

Now, the 58 million plus of us who voted for Sarah Palin (not that other guy) have to hunker down for the next four years and hope we survive the mess this country of ignormarouses has gotten us all into.

Lets be honest here. Here is a guy who hasn’t really put in a true 40-hour workweek ever in his life. For the past ten years...he likely showed up at work around 9 and left by 4. If he put any work into a weekend...it was less than three hours. He had no major lawn work or garage to clear...nor was he restoring any cars or coaching little league. My impression of his college years...especially as the ‘editor’ at the legal review....was that he barely showed up and never wrote much of anything...just occupying the position.

So now? Graying hair. No breaks except for a few hours of sleep in the evening. Meetings that lead to more meetings, that lead to more meetings. Decisions must be made, and then remade. Important people paying the guy at the front door to get a twenty-minute meeting to emphasize their pet project or their 100-million dollar real estate deal with the national park service. He’s putting five hours of work into every Saturday, and likely has another five spread through Sunday on various projects.

His ideology is under constant pressure because you can’t put a square peg into a round hole. His speeches are programmed events but he has to be closely involved and waste an hour here and an hour there practicing them so he can portray the “one”. He has people like Pelosi and Reid who have little to no respect for his office or his abilities. He gets various stories from his experts, who really aren’t much to brag about.

Then adding onto this entire mess...the economy is at the worst point in 100 years....two major wars are underway....some radio talk-show host is actually taking some strong whacks at your credibility, your birth certificate could potentially come out at any point to spoil the legend, and the years as a community organizer really didn’t prepare you for this kind of work (but you can’t admit this in public).

Did I miss anything?

As one who has had to put with the pompous Duke of Delaware, if you think it couldn’t be worse than 0bambi or think that Biden is a harmless old fool, you’re wrong on both counts. This pompous stuffed shirt actually believes that he RULES by divine right. He has a placeholder in the Senate, keeping the seat warm so that his son can inherit what is rightfully his. Bden is 0bambi’s life insurance policy.
