We are all inner-city Blacks now.
WND ^ | 03/07/09 | Star Parker

Posted on 03/08/2009 9:55:03 PM PDT by tflabo

Blacks are not given enough credit for being trendsetters in America.

Blacks started playing the blues, jazz, and R&B, then the rest of America started playing them.

Blacks discovered the politics of victimhood, then the rest of America started catching on.

Black women got into having babies without marriage. Then white women started getting into it (the incidence of white out-of-wedlock births today – almost 30 percent – is higher than the black rate in the 1960s).

Blacks bought into dependency and the welfare state. Now the rest of America has bought in.

Blacks for years elected politicians championing public policy that destroyed their own communities. Now the rest of America has installed a new political leadership with the perfect formula – run roughshod over private ownership, disdain traditional values, substitute political power for personal responsibility – for destroying our country.

I have an instinctive dislike for any article titled “We Are All (something) Now.”

We are a nation of individuals, and we SHOULD be a nation of individualists.

Didn't Star Parker dump on Palin and tell us Obama wasn't so bad?

Since Star is a Black woman herself I thought to post it here on FR and let the readers get her perspective on it since she wrote the article.

I’m not objecting to the article, it’s a good one.

She has a point. The last election showed that a very large percentage of white America has embraced the beliefs that have ruined the black community.

Don’t confuse her with Starr Jones (I think?) who used to be on the View.

By embracing those beliefs - these fools may destroy the country. It already destroyed the economy. CRA’s and giving mortgages to people who cannot pay is exactly what she is talking about too and it has destroyed our economy.

One FR member blasted me saying they lost 48% of their life savings and blamed corporate execs. It was more CRA lawsuit that Obama started and Fannie & Freddie.

It is not going to get better until the Kenyan gets tossed by SCOTUS on his non-existent BC and we elect some conservatives in 2010 (don’t hold your breath - but if it does not happen we are screwed).

"To educate a man in mind only, and not in morals is to educate a menace to society." Theodore Roosevelt

Heck, we're not even educating the kids in the mind at this juncture! Liberal influenced public education is a disaster.

...”a very large percentage of white America has embraced the beliefs that have ruined the black community.”

This what happens when the minority subculture dominates
the mainstream majority culture in the entertainment industry.

It isn't hip to be white anymore, and the welfare whore and thug mentality has replaced white European-Christian values.

Excellent article. She tells it like it is. I had a front seat view in Detroit from it’s glory days to it’s end. Starr is right in her perspective.

I saw increasing violent crime, promoted by white and black Leftists that created a black racist political foundation of hate and entitlements, that utterly destroy that once great, and once beautiful city.

I fear the country as a whole will fall into the same self-destructive pattern. We are well on our way. I hope and pray for a miracle that will stop the slide.

Actually, I always saw blacks as trendsetters, but not in social terms. Brilliant of Star to pick up on it. And a black man is leading us all there. Excellent piece.

You have to be thinking of someone else. Star was fanatically PRO-Palin—which is a good thing. She was also hilarious at one appearance I saw. Before she spoke, she pulled out the lipstick. It was at the height of the “pig on a lipstick” brouhaha.
