‘I’d Tell Geithner To Quit And Go To Pastry Chef School’

Just in case the SNL skit wasn’t sufficient to send Tim Geithner the message, today’s Early Show has provided another harsh dose of reality for the Secretary of the Treasury. Grading his performance, an economics prof has said that if Geithner were his grad student, he’d tell him to quit and register in pastry chef school . . .

Harry Smith had assembled a panel of economic experts to grade the Obama administration on its performance to date on the economy. Of course in these situations, a network can control the outcome through its choice of guests. Interestingly, there were no Obama shills on the panel. Then again, it would be hard to find one, in these days when even Paul Krugman is taking shots at the president’s plans.

Steve Forbes went first, and hit the administration with a “not passing” grade. Chrystia Freeland of the Financial Times was the easiest touch, giving high marks for the stimulus plan. But she was tougher on the admin’s handling of the financial crisis. She called it the “core problem” and said we haven’t seen “sufficiently bold action.” Then it was the turn of U. of Maryland econ Prof. Peter Morici, and he unloaded . . .

If Geithener went to pastry school, he’d simply steal the flour.

My conspiratorial mind tells me that O sicced the IRS on Geithner as a way to force Geithner out. The excuse will be that he’s become too much of a distraction.

Note the spin, “Geithner is part of the last administration.”

No, no, in Washington they don't call it stealing; they call it appropriation...

Hard to say Morici was spinning for the Obama admin! And it is true Geithner was the NY Fed president under Pres. Bush.

On the financial bailout plan, or the stabilization plan, let’s face it: Mr. Geithner was part of the last administration. President of the New York Fed, architect of the Citigroup bailout.

LOL, now Geithner is Bush's fault too!

If he can not make it as a financier perhaps he can bake one.

Financiers:

1/3 cup (5 tablespoons) (85 grams) beurre noisette (will need 1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter)

1/4 cup (35 grams) all purpose flour

1/2 cup (50 grams) almond flour (meal) or ground blanched almonds

3/4 cup (90 grams) confectioners’ (powdered or icing) sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 large egg whites, lightly beaten

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Fresh berries (optional)

I believe that these Long Island Liberals are just beginning to realize that they are in Obama’s crosshairs when it comes to TAXES! It was kewl to support a liberal minority candidate at their Hampton cheese whiz fests but they never thought that he would actually try to destroy THEIR lifestyle.

The “I just saved a bunch of money by switching my con-game to Geithner” Fed and Tiny Tim are mixing up new, ingenious ideas for their half-baked “toxic assets” concept as we speak.
