EarmarkWatch is an experimental distributed research project that contains data for Fiscal Year 2008 earmarks from the House and Senate Labor-HHS-Education bills and the 2008 House Defense Bill. It does not contain 2009 earmarks.
Sen. Inouye (D-HI), the Senate appropriations chair, has Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education earmarks totaling $96,600,000.
For this appropriations bill, Sen. Inouye (D-HI) ranks in the 100th percentile.

...and just moments ago, I happened to hear him, a WWII vet who should know better, lecturing America on moving on with the passage of the break the bank omnibus spending bill. And wouldn’t you know, eight, yes count them eight Republicans in name only voted for the desecration of the Constitution.
If we break big spending, they won’t be able to “break the bank” with the spending bill. They’ll only break the government for a general default.
Buy no more than what you need to be healthy and fine. If you run a business, run that on less, too. With less purchasing, there will be less tax revenues and fewer intrusions. Keep them busy with the economy.
And for those of you with pork rackets of your own in the various states, those will be broken anyway. The trend of decreasing private spending will continue and become more strict.
