It's Bernardin's "seamless garment" shtick. You know, the old blather about "yes, yes, we're very concerned about abortion but of course, we're concerned about all life issues, including health, war, poverty etc etc.". Essentially, it dilutes the importance of the unqualified right to life by equating it with other social issues. You don't deny the importance of abortion outright. You simply bury it amongst a host of other "important" issues. Devilishly cunning and extremely dangerous.
It's done incalculable damage to the Catholic Church in this country.
Social justice CANNOT EXIST without life; therefore, life MUST come first.
