Ayers actually got off on a technicality. Not sure if that means it would be double-jeopardy.

Plus he is quoted as saying on his release, "guilty as hell, free as a bird".

Hmmmmmm. Charges were dropped “in the interest of National Security” so double jeapardy might not apply.

I believe that the crime Ayers skated on was the one where the Weather Underground idiots blew themselves up in Greenwich village. This is a totally different crime so double-jeopardy is not an issue.

Was Ayers convicted, and acquitted on appeal? I don’t think so. I also don’t think he was tried and acquitted.

In either case, he can’t be tried again.

I thought, however, that the incriminating evidence was tainted (Fourth Amendment), and excluded, and thus he was not tried.

Ayers "got off" of the Pentagon bombing offense (although there has been no clearance, just evidence that was supposedly "illegally obtained" regarding a domestic terrorist group that was working on behalf of foreign powers in wartime.

The police murder is still an open charge with no statute of limitations. And the police unions backed Barack Obama. Idiots.

Consider the source, but

Since the SF police station bombing was never solved, there would be no double jeopardy since no one was ever charged.
