NEW YORK - The New York Times is describing its newest opinion columnist as young and conservative. The Times announced Wednesday that Ross G. Douthat (DOW'-thut), a 29-year-old writer and editor at The Atlantic, will initially write online columns for the newspaper beginning in mid-April.

The Onion, right?
Two chances, "Slim" and "None", and "Slim" just left Dodge, riding a horse named "None"!
It really must be weird being the token in the office. He probably has to bring his lunch and eat alone at this desk.
There is at least a possibility that the Old Grey Whore is telling the truth that the guy is "young". The rest of the statement, we can safely assume is a lie.
His desk is next to a urinal in the Men’s room.
Is it Peggy Noonan?
too little...too late...
What the NYT needs is a true blue conservative BILLIONAIRE to purchase the paper!
If he worked at The Atlantic he will feel right at home at the Times.

Better to sell papers than floors.
Douthat is a Brooks/Frum clone.
Uh-huh. I’ve heard the “conservative” tag used to describe David Brooks. I guess compared to Paul Krugman, Pol Pot would be “moderate.”
What makes the conservative political views of a newspaper columnist newsworthy? Why, when the newspaper is known to be totally left-wing in its outlook. Let’s all praise the NYT for presenting “balance.” MSM navel fascination.
How many NYT’s columnists are labeled as “liberal?”
I would question how conservative Ross is. This is the Slimes, after all.
You don’t become a billionaire by investing in lost causes.
I just had to learn something about this guy. To make life interesting I made various suppositions: (1) New England born: right. Connecticut. (2) Ivy League education only: bingo. Harvard. (3)Touchy-feely: right again. Praised by Brooks. (4) Agony of life guy: Right. Joined Pentecostals, then the Catholic Church. (5) Never been more than 50 miles inland from the Atlantic or Pacific: Perhaps. Lives in Baltimore. (6) Unmarried, likely gay. Couldn’t find out. I hope the guy turns out Right, but he will likely end up the marshmallow-coated William Safire type.
Or a RINO sleeper.
