Obama Considering Deploying Troops to U.S.-Mexico Border President Obama tells regional reporters it is "unacceptable if you've got drug gangs crossing our borders and killing U.S. citizens."

President Obama says he's considering whether to deploy National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border, after Texas Gov. Rick Perry made an urgent call fort 1,000 more "boots on the ground" to deal with the growing violence.

The president weighed the option during a meeting with regional reporters Wednesday afternoon.

"We're going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense," Obama said, according to an account by McClatchy Newspapers. "I don't have a particular tipping point in mind. ... I think it's unacceptable if you've got drug gangs crossing our borders and killing U.S. citizens."

Actually not. he ordered a case of boots to be delivered to Del Rio. They were left on the border as a warning but they were taken by illegals and found to be very comfortable but not so stylish!

He’ll put them there, but with no ammo.

I feel like I live in an alternate universe sometimes...

First Putin warns Obama about socialism...

Now Obama wants to put troops on the border...

Next thing you know Obama will be pushing for tax cuts!

Then I woke up...

Helllooooooo.... I said....

Wouldn’t everyone be happier if the US just surrendered?

I guess there are no Libertarians on this thread. Lord knows I've spent way too much time arguing with them against their "Surrender on the WOD" viewpoints.

Someone has their wires crossed.

This from March 11:

Obama: No U.S. troops to Mexico border for now

06:37 PM CDT on Wednesday, March 11, 2009

By TODD J. GILLMAN / The Dallas Morning News
tgillman@dallasnews.com

WASHINGTON – Mexico’s drug war and the risks of cross-border violence deserve top-level attention, President Barack Obama said in an interview today, but it isn’t time to send U.S. troops.

“We’ve got a very big border with Mexico,” the president said. “I’m not interested in militarizing the border.”

Also, does the Posse Comitatus Act figure into this at all?
It doesn't. The PC act is about police powers in America and the quartering of soldiers in private homes. The posting of soldiers on the border is clearly constitutional when you consider the fact that government is constitutionally mandated to keep the borders secure.

I wonder, has he acquired a cover with a hard, shiny brim to wear as he ‘barks orders?’

Ok, Bozo needs a distraction from his f*** ups and is making noises like he thinks he is a real CIC. Look for him to do nothing. If he was serious about this troops would already be headed for the border and they would be given ROE and armed with real weapons and ammunition.

He will never send troops down and kill the drug money the democrats depend on to keep the government dependent class voting democrat.
