Thanks for the ping, Meek. I’ve seen two commercials on FNC for these brown shirts, only this time they’re wearing red. How appropriate!

Hello bonnieblue4me,

“Patriots unite ping.”

Just double checking.

Do you want me to add you to the HR 1388 Ping list? I wasn’t sure if Patriots Unite might be another Ping list. My brain is a bit fried today.

I don’t want to Ping people if they don’t want to be Pinged.

‘A National Service bill could contain numerous caveats in the fine print to coerce the public to obey.’

“We’ll reach this goal in several ways. At the middle and high school level, we’ll make federal assistance conditional on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities.”

“Schools that require service as part of the educational experience create improved learning environments and serve as resources for their communities.” Moreover, in his Plan, he promises to “develop national guidelines for service-learning and community service programs,” thus not leaving the content of service programs to the states.

The Volokh Conspiracy’s Jim Lindgren: “it would be the public schools that would impose federal standards of coerced service on each child as part of their requirements for graduation. For students, service would be involuntary. Even for the public schools, their participation would be only nominally voluntary – for how many public schools can survive without federal assistance?”

and, wikipedia cleansed Obama’s Chicago background from his page. Luckily, I copied and pasted ALL of it here at FR. We have a thread with the wiki cleansed material.

I'd love for someone to ask Jesse Jackson what he thinks of this. When an effort was made to have those living in government housing do work around them (you know, the way we who are home owners do) Jackson pitched a fit calling it slavery.

This will fit in well with people like my in-laws. They are the two most pension-centric people I have ever met, and I have known a LOT of people who belong, through choice or force, to unions.

People like my inlaws have completely squandered their lives in the relentless, single-minded pursuit of social security and the day that someone else will pay for their existence that, in my opinion, they completely neglected to have a life along the way. They yearn with every fiber of their souls for the day in the twilight of their lives when the GOVERNMENT will GIVE them everything. They just turned 60 late last year.

This will really frost their cookies because they are both dyed in the wool democrats and regularly bemoan
“greedy” Republicans. It’s why my mother in law has never cared for me—one of the two biggest sins you can commit in her eyes is being a Republican. The other one is being overweight.

So while I hate to see the government’s deal with the baby boomers broken by this POS president we have, it will be a lot of fun to watch this happen to these two people who and be able to ask my in-laws if they are still happy about voting for O-Vomit.

Your in-laws need to read Ayn Rand's, Atlas Shrugged. They probably won't get it, though. The whole premise of the book is if self responsibility, determination and the drive to succeed is selfish, then selfishness is a good thing. Who is John Galt?

"The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws" ~~Ayn Rand

Well, then, I guess I aim to misbehave.
