I can’t prove whether God exists or not, but I choose to believe he does. If I’m wrong, when I die that will be the end of me and I’ll simply wink out of existence. If I’m right, I’ll live on in spirit.
All in all, I think I made a pretty logical choice.
It’s actually a logical stance. Why were humans given logical spiritual and cognitive understanding in the first place? It was the Lord that provided our home and Satan to tear it down. It was left up to the human population to make that determination. A rabbit keeps silent.
They are sadly mistaken though, to a disgusting degree..
Jesus taught to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar's”....Never any mention of forcible redistribution of wealth by govt. decree.
The funny part is, that conservatives give a LOT more to charity than our loving, bleeding-heart counterparts.
I have always found that conservatives are far less concerned with wealth than liberals are. Most likely because we respect our Creator and know there is an afterlife, therefore our material belongings arent everything..
On the other hand, if your a lib atheist and believe this world is all there is, of course you wanna create some phony-baloney socialist utopia.
Logical? Seems like a horribly cynical one, to me, like you're just tyring to cover the bases, as opposed to a true believer who can't ignore what he sees as the truth and embraces that only because it IS the truth. Choosing to believe something because it's better than nothing, literally, doesn't seem logical at all. IMHO, of course.
Not at all. As I said, I CHOOSE to believe. I made the choice to believe in God precisely because I DO believe he exists. I do have a very curious mind, however, so I like to entertain alternative theories, like the possibility that he does not exist.
To me, it’s fascinating to look at ALL angles, not just the one. It strengthens my faith, not diminishes it. I’ve found that exploring the assumption that God doesn’t exist and looking at all the evidence pro and con only reinforces my believe that he does exist, and that the universe we live in didn’t just happen by accident.
