That’s why they were not allowed to go bankrupt. Legal contracts would not be made void if the government bailed them out. If they went bankrupt, the bonuses would have been void. Think all the people that were to get bonuses didn’t put pressure on the President?

Contractual bonuses cannot be blocked without a lawsuit................. I would block the bonuses anyway and invite the recipients to sue. Make them tell us why they deserve any amount whatever for their performance. Make them tell us why they don't deserve to spend the rest of their lives in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
