Whatdaya think Obama, should we withdraw our troops?

Somebody had 8 to 5 on the other team, I’m guessing.

That’s because scoring is illegal in soccer.

That makes the game a lot more interesting. We should try it with the NBA.

I am certain that based on what we know about islam that’s it’s OK in the koran somewhere.
That they didn’t also go to the dead mans house, rape and behead his daughters, shows that we are making inroads.

Sounds to me like our Publik Skools playing game with no score kept.
This poor guy was probably a Sunni playing against a bunch of Shiites.

So, under Iraqi rules does that constitute a yellow card or a red card?

One of the fans shot him? I thought only the goalie was allowed to shoot an attacker.

Though not technically against the rules — I would suppose that’s a foul.
Penalty kicks? Red card?

an Iraqi soccer player has been shot dead just as he was about to kick what could have been the tying goalYou don't "kick" goals in soccer.
You can kick a field goal or a conversion in rugby and of course you can kick the extra point in American Football.
In soccer you shoot or you score. if you score from a penalty or free kick then you "take" the penalty, you don't "kick" it.
Another weird Americanism that used to be used in soccer reports was to (ironically given this instance) refer to a header as a "head shot". The media has wised up to that and now uses the correct terminology.

They were apparently playing by Islamic Rules, which permit beheading your opponent, but only if he is across midfield, in possession of the ball. Beheading is preferred, but the Islamic game had to adapt to today’s realities, so shooting became accepted sometime in the ‘50’s. Of course, when playing infidel teams, killing is permitted at any time and by any means.
ROP sarcasm alert.

“Whatdaya think Obama, should we withdraw our troops?”
Hundreds of billions spent in trying to restore security in a country where a soccer player can be shot before marking....
Maybe it’s time to wonder if this money was not wasted after all.
