You can do this close to your home. Keep some, hide the rest. If TSHTF, you don't want to risk all being confiscated. Keep 2-3 to hand over. Tell them you lost or sold the rest(if they are aware of them). Then go get the others. We know one guy that has them hidden in 5 different places so he has a constant supply. He's sure the zer0 administration is coming for them eventually and he is an avid collector and has been for years. I would guess he probably has a 300K collection. Some beautiful old very collectible ones as well as many new ones. He has a Colt 45 with Ivory handles that is one of the nicest guns I've ever seen. It fits my hand like a glove.

But can’t the Obama ACORN goons use metal detectors and other technology to find buried guns and ammo?
___________
I think it’s useless to hide them on your property. Hide them off property. Dig deep,6-7 feet. There is no way in hell they can scour every square foot of barren land and they won’t. They will hope people turn them over, they make search your home and property. Do you have any idea how much manpower it would take to even cover every square foot of ONE neighborhood with a metal detector?

GPS and a map drawing of the area. It’s not that hard.

This is for the alphabets, all we talk and all our actions is not to be against America, its to save America from usurpation and tyranny, America WAS the land of the free, we could use a little help getting it back that way you know.

The “Ranch” model is the same with a stainless steel barrel.

“I would bury several dozen of those high powered super magnets along with a couple rolls of pennies to mimic bullets, maybe toss in some fishing weights. And just to get more imaginative do the pipe bit but just use some 4’ ABS about a foot long with caps, toss all the above in and glue it up.”

Good thinking. I am getting lots of good ideas on this thread.

Guess I’ll be doing some extra digging this spring.

We will need central gathering places that are fortified.

Yes, forts!

It is a Mini-14 with a stainless steel barrel.

Umm - slightly different receiver, IIRC. It incorporated Ruger scope mount bases and ditched the military-type rear sight in favor of a simpler design.

I sure wish we were just getting a bit paranoid, but that isn't the case now, is it?

Bingo. And the ejector is modified to kick the empty cases to the side, so they won't hit the scope (if you're using one). Disassembly for cleaning is a bit different for that reason, IIRC...

It would be reckless and probably wrong to resist gun confiscation.

It would be risky no doubt, but never wrong. Although, I am not sure you meant "wrong" in that context, did you?
