Sarah Palin vs. Barack Obama: The 2010 Money Race Begins
The Los Angeles Times ^ | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 03/17/2009 7:23:11 AM PDT by lewisglad

Just when you thought it was safe to start checking your e-mail and snail-mailboxes again, possibly the two biggest names in political fundraising today are hitting the money trail again.

President Barack Obama. And Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Is this a very early pre-season matchup for 2012, at least moneywise?

The new president will headline an event for the Democratic National Committee in Washington on March 25, just before he starts his first overseas trip as chief executive.

It will be an early test of Obama's presidential moneyraising skills, given the complications of a sour economy and what D.C. Democrats admit is "donor fatigue" after Obama's $750 million haul during the presidential campaign of 2007-08. While his popularity remains in the low 60s or 59%, according to a new Pew Poll, that's about normal for this early in a new presidency.

Palin remains probably the biggest Republican name out there. Despite numerous invitations and interview requests in recent weeks, she's clearly made a decision to stay close to home for the legislative session and be seen to focus on the business of Alaska, where she faces an election next year.

Even if Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal hadn't gotten such negative reviews for his GOP response to Obama's joint congressional speech, no one else yet matches the buzz and celebrity power of Palin on the Republican side; hence, the invitation and a royal coming-out opportunity for her on the big Washington stage.

whether or not he currently has a $ advantage, his handling of taxes, decreased care for vets, cutting military spending etc..HOPEFULLY won’t be forgotten by those who voted for him in the first place and will result in a change of direction on their part. (IMHO, ANYONE who voted for him in the first place and are now upset with him have no right to complain. They got what they wanted).

All the rhetoric in the world won’t undo actions..what we have to be careful of is the media will stop at nothing to condemn ANY Republican frontrunner..

Also Obama will more than 100% likely not have a primary opponent, leaving millions of Acorn minions to disrupt the GOP primaries. Hard to believe Sarah could survive.

Being a Soros puppet does have its perks.

If you make this connection: Big Media and Obama Campaign are one in the same, it will be easier to understand what's happening.

SarahPAC has the potential of matching the $749m Obama raised in 2008. That is why Sarah Palin poses such a threat to Obama’s socialist agenda and his desire to impose a permanent repressive totalitarian regime on America.

If the prospective candidates are not on the ground running right now - there is no getting on board in 2010 or 2011.

An unfortunate fact of life is that there are no opportunities for a “Mr. Smith goes to Washington” any more. These things are chosen and the strategies laid not months, but YEARS in advance.

And George Soros has been honing his game for a long time now. He might never be able to be elected to the US Presidency himself, but he can make a huge difference as to who could be.

I’ll be donating directly to SarahPAC. Not a thin dime for the RNC.

Watch for the major newspapers, especially the NYT, WashCompost, Newsweek, etc. to get bailouts soon. Nothing like Obamination paying his loyal press corp, aka political operatives, in the runup to the elections.
