“births to unwed mothers reached an all-time high of about 40 percent”.....
Just a hunch....they all voted for OBozo?

The number one reason for this article's existence is:
Cultural attitudes may be a more likely explanation. Morgan noted the pregnancy of Bristol Palin, the unmarried teen daughter of former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The young woman had a baby boy in December, and plans for a wedding with the father, Levi Johnston, were scrapped.
"She's the poster child for what you do when you get pregnant now," Morgan said.
Taking yet another cheap shot at Sarah Palin by the liberal press! What a shocker. When I think of "culture" and the birth rate, somehow an upper middle class white family doesn't come to mind.

More than three-quarters of these women were 20 or older.
In other words, teens account for almost 1/4 of out-of-wedlock births.

What this tells me is that in the next 20 years we are going to have to become less urban-suburban and rely on more agriculture! Bring back the family farm.

More babies were born in the United States in 2007 than in any year in the nation's history...So 2007 is not a year in the nation's history?

I don’t think it’s any accident that this push for sexual freedom came on during the same time that militant feminists were looking to eliminate fathers from the family.
