It’s not a mistake. The American people operate under Rousseau’s principle of the “general will”. So if the people want “it”, they should and shall receive “it”. The American people would never undertand that they errerd. When one looks at the U.S. political map, there is precious reason for any hope contrary to the American people’s inability to govern themselves.

A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality. Well said.

Pretty scary I would say. Almost everything has come true and he has been in office less than 6 months...what happens at the end of 4 years? He's been in office a few short months. It's gonna be a loooooooong four years.

Good post, but you know, it's funny, I really don't remember a lot of negative stuff being said by Canadians about Obama or the socialists during the three-plus-years of the election.
What I do remember is George Bush being bashed by Canadians, day-in and day-out, and never for the right reasons. And conservatives, and decent Americans being bashed by all of those hipsters in Toronto.
Now Canadians see the gravy train pulling out of the station... all the flirting they have done with socialism and multiculturism is going to erase them as a nation and culture.
Hmmm, they are saying... maybe this is not so good.
Too bad this sort of article would never have seen the light of day either ten months ago or ten years ago, when it might have mattered.
