The mother of one of my wife’s good friends was a Hitler Youth. I met her in the early 80’s and spent some time talking to her. She was STILL a Hitler Youth in her mind.
Hence the notion of "get 'em while they're young." In the words of the Jesuits, "Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man." Or the Bible, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
