We have got to “win on the issues” to counter them, otherwise it’s just a popularity contest-reason and reality will catch up with them..I hope.
Many years ago I was involved in a county Republican Party in another state in which we were outnumbered in registrations by ten percentage points, or more.
In that county and the neighboring counties, we learned that voters want to be visited by the local candidate or someone from the party for others. They want someone to ask for their vote. We learned when a personal effort is made they will change from their registered party.
Although badly out registered we did win elections.
Campaigning is hard work for those who have a passion to win. I don't know who ran Obama’s grassroot campaigns, but he/she knew what worked. And we should learn from them, not discredit them. I am talking process, not the ACORN type fraud, but what voters respond to - the hand shake!.
