There’s lots of debate over what fascist economics are or aren’t but most people are wrong, including conservatives and libertarians.

Socialism and communism is common ownership over the means of production, as well as private property.

Fascism doesn’t care about economics at all. Fascism only cares about power. Economics is merely a means to an end to fascists. So they will try any economic means whatsoever to achieve their end goal: total and absolute power.

One thing you cannot have in a repressive government is a free market system however. Some people usually mention Pinochet or China at this point... I usually as them the question: how “free market” is an economic system where goods that criticize the government are illegal? Usually leftists are so intellectually schooled at this point that they raise up strawmen arguments, like characterizing my definition of free market as akin to anarcho-capitalism or something.

But I digress. :)

They’re “too big to fail”. So don’t let them get that big.

They’re only too big to fail because the media defines them as such. Plus we encourage it when we prop them up, investors know that a company is too big to fail and care less about making risky investments.

Isn’t this pretty much the classical definition of economic fascism?

Why, yes, as a matter of fact, it is. Why do you ask?

It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. The powers you give me I will lay down when this crisis has be abated!

There has been criticism of the 17 positions at Treasury not being filled. Do you think they are being unfilled on purpose?

Oh! I was going to ping you yesterday about this article by Bruce Wiseman but was sidelined by family problems.

Glad you read it. His advice - exactly like yours - at the end of the article is what I’ve been doing to prepare for the “crunch”.

Fascism only cares about power>>>>>>>>>>> Thats correct. And to destroy the power of the now Obama defined "investment class" , he has to destroy the means of investment, or restrict it so it does not function. This is being done through taxation, bank manipulation, and socialist policies about accumulation of wealth which make venture capital accretion almost impossible.

So where has the investment class gone. Obama is eating their dust, they have gone off shore.<,p>
