Apparenty the letter was a response regarding humanitarian work or some such cause.

Why would a President snub our allies and befriend terrorists? Because such behavior is perfectly consistent with who he is: a minority who was heavily influenced by sixties radicalism and black liberation theology. Our friends are evil, affluent capitalists and mostly white, while the terrorists are from poor nations (or nations with little more than accidental oil wealth) and mostly non-white.
